How it works

From kickoff to live, in four steps

We handle the setup. You bring the photos and the words only your department can write. Once your content is ready, going live takes under a day.

At a glance

Four steps, shared between us

  1. Rescuezu

    We set up your department

Your template, colors, logo, pages and volunteer form, ready for content.

  2. You

    You add photos and content

Write your about page, post news, add events and upload photos with alt text.

  3. You

    Review and publish

Preview every change as a draft, then publish when your officers are happy with it.

  4. Together

    Connect your domain

Point your existing domain at Rescuezu. HTTPS is set up automatically.

In depth

What happens at each step

  1. Rescuezu

    We set up your department

It starts with a short kickoff call. We learn about your department, then set up your site with your template, colors and logo, the standard pages and your volunteer interest form, ready for content.

  2. You

    You add photos and content

Your members write the about page, post news, add events and upload photos. Every photo asks for alt text, so your site works for everyone. You can invite the members who will keep the site up to date.

  3. You

    Review and publish

Every change starts as a draft. Preview it exactly as the public will see it, then publish when your officers are happy. Nothing goes live by accident.

  4. Together

    Connect your domain

Your site is live on a Rescuezu subdomain from the start. When you are ready, you point your existing domain at Rescuezu with a DNS change at your domain registrar, and we help you through it. HTTPS is set up automatically, so visitors see the padlock without anyone buying or installing a certificate.

Custom domain and HTTPS

Your address, secured automatically

Start on a subdomain

Your site is live at an address like yourdepartment.rescuezu.com while you add content.

Point your domain

Keep the domain you already own. A DNS change at your registrar points it at your Rescuezu site.

HTTPS, automatically

The certificate is set up for you, on both the subdomain and your own domain. Nothing to buy or install.
